Roxie Jo Muck departed this life of 76 years on March 2, 2017 in the presence of her loving family at Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas.
Roxie was born on March 3, 1940 to Roscoe and Helen (Moore) Brillhart.  Her siblings include Max Edward Brillhart and Melvina “Pug” Louise Baldwin.  In 1943, they moved to Glasco, Kansas where she attended Glasco Public Schools.  As a child, her love for music grew when opportunities arose to sing for her local church and radio station.
In 1958, Roxie married James Prye Downey and to this union was born T.J., Susan, and Max.  She was a homemaker and involved in teaching Catechism, Cub Scouts, and Brownies.  She also enjoyed performing in PTA plays.
In 1979, Roxie married John Henry Muck and their family grew to eight; which included three daughters, Cathy, Debbie, and Rita.  John and Roxie were wheat farmers, which brought a lot of excitement during harvest.  They loved to spend all their time together and enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, golf and taking road trips to various casinos.  Later in life Roxie became a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and Downs Golf Club.  Golfing was a major part of her and John’s life especially after retiring from farming.
Roxie is preceded in death by her husband John, daughter, Tammy and her parents.
Her surviving family includes: brother, Max Brillhart and sister, Melvina “Pug” Baldwin; six children: Cathy (Kevin) Shellito, T.J. Downey, Debbie Riles, Susan (Richard) Reihs, Max Downey, and Rita (Dave) Brown); 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Downs United Methodist Church with Minister David Hardy officiating.  Connie Jo Hardy was pianist and soloist for the service, singing “In the Garden” and “If I Had Only Known.”  The congregation sang “Amazing Grace.”  Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were family members.  Memorials may be given to the Down Golf Course in care of Domoney Funeral Home, PO Box 127, Downs, KS 67437.
