Cremation

Cremation is an alternative to the traditional funeral service
Cremation refers to the manner in which you or your loved one has chosen to deal with the physical remains.  This decision doesn’t limit the ways you can honor your loved one’s life.  We encourage and suggest that you have a funeral or memorial service because your need for healing and grieving is not lessened by the decision to be cremated.  The options are limited only by your imagination.

Direct cremation takes place as soon as the funeral home receives authorization from the next of kin AND the coroner in the county where the death occurred AND the death certificate is signed by either the doctor or coroner. This includes no services or visitation.

Cremation with a memorial service is held following the cremation process.  The service can be held where ever the family chooses.  Domoney Funeral Home encourages families to bring in personal items of the deceased, photos and other items to display to celebrate the life of their loved one.

Domoney Funeral Home also offers the service of having a funeral service with cremation at a later date.  This would be similar to a traditional service, however, instead of going to the cemetery for burial the deceased would be taken to the crematorium.

Purchasing an urn is optional.
